In 1998 the company was bought by International Microcomputing Sofware (NASDAQ Ticker IMSI), a rapidly expanding Internet company, and their collection is growing more rapidly than ever. We can truly say that at $29.95 per year Art Today is a great deal. Really! (We aren't saying that just because IMSI is a past participant in the Wall-Street.com "Fastest-Growing Companies Program".)
Since Art Today lists the origins of their art, we know that most of the images used in our quizzes are from turn-of-the-century encyclopedias, magazines, architectural books and photo collections. At Amazon.com, a search for a random sampling of these .publications netted only two listed as out-of-print items they could look for. Therefore, Art Today has begun to function as a valuable historical respository and informal museum of art history.Although we have presented the pictures on our quiz pages as small-sized images, most of them are at Art Today in the form of large 300-dpi jpeg files. Many are suitable for printing out on a high-quality laser printer and framing for your wall. However, please do not ask us to give or sell you these jpegs. Art Today retains the ownership of them. Although subscribers can use all the art, at no royalty; for either personal or commercial use, the subscription agreement prohibits us from reselling the art.
Besides, $29.95 is so inexpensive that we could not hope to compete with this price!
